In terms of the MFTTA COVID safe plan, MFTTA operates in accord with its OH&S Policy, the Victorian Government health regulations (see www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au), Belgravia Leisure and Mornington Peninsula Shire mandatory rules, plus TTV (Table Tennis Victoria) and TTA (Table Tennis Australia) principles.
During past restrictions, COVID-19 infection control applied with safety guidelines and rules of operation.
We welcome anyone wishing to play table tennis, either competitively or socially. MFTTA is an all-inclusive club catering for the community which especially includes All Abilities (disability) players, LGBTQIA+, indigenous peoples and refugees.
Table tennis is not just fun in your garage - did you know it's an Olympic and Commonwealth Games Sport - the biggest participation sport in the world? Table tennis is one of the best sports for all around fun and fitness and for socialising.
Our Association (MFTTA) is affiliated with Table Tennis Victoria and therefore with Table Tennis Australia and the International Table Tennis Federation.
There is a modest fee to become a registered member which provides entitlement to a range of benefits including sports injury insurance, access to coaching, umpiring courses and eligibility to play in official tournaments throughout Victoria and Australia wide.
MFTTA is involved in a new innovative training program. It aims to build skills for juniors 5 to 12 years old using an exciting, fun methodology. Its called "Spinneroos" - coordinated by skilled coaches and supported by Table Tennis Australia, Table Tennis Victoria and the International Table Tennis Federation. There are two programs which run each school term. One is called Regular Spinneroos for boys and girls and the other is called Girls Spinneroos for girls only with female coaches. See https://www.spinneroos.com.au/home/ for info. For info please email us on mptta88@gmail.com or ring 0498 003 788. It goes for 8 weeks of fun and friendship and children each get a player kit with a shirt with their name, bat, balls and bag.
