Juniors: MFTTA sees Juniors as the lifeblood and future of the sport. As such the club devotes extensive resources to create opportunities for juniors to play table tennis. The starting point is usually Spinneroos (see below) or Friday juniors which begins at 430pm and at 6pm during school terms (when COVID-19 restrictions are not in place - see Home page). This program has fun activities, games, competitions and coaching. This is so popular that often the entire family ends up joining the club to play socially and/or in Pennant competition or handicap competition. There are development pathways for all Juniors who can progress through coaching and training and learn new skills and develop their potential. Many have gone on to win trophies (available at all standards), and to represent the club, Victoria and Australia. Most of all the focus is on fun and enjoyment.
Schools: MFTTA also works closely with schools to provide an introduction to table tennis for primary and secondary school aged children. We are part of the Table Tennis Australia highly successful Spinneroos program which runs each school term (see below). Schools are warmly invited to contact us if you would like to play at our stadium or have us visit and provide coaching programs.

MFTTA is involved in a new innovative training program called Spinneroos, which aims to build skills for juniors aged 5 to 12 y/o using an exciting, fun methodology. It runs throughout each school term.
We offer a 'Regular' Spinneroos (boys & girls) and a Girls only Spinneroos program.
Both programs are $100 per school term with a reduced cost of $80 to returning juniors who have previously participated in Spinneroos.
Term 3 program starts at 4:30pm on Thursday 21 July 2022 for Girls only or Friday 22 July 2022 for mixed (girls and boys) and then runs for 8 weeks on whichever day of the week is chosen.
See https://www.spinneroos.com.au/home/ for more information and to register. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call text 0498 003 788 or 0437 175 942 for local information about MFTTA Spinneroos for each Term in 2022.
Spinneroos goes for 8 weeks of fun and friendship and children each get a player kit with a shirt with their name, bat, balls and bag. Regular Spinneroos (girls and boys) usually starts second week of each school term on a Friday at 4:30pm - 5:30pm. Girls Spinneroos usually starts similarly in second week of each school term on a Thursday 4:30pm - 5:30pm. For those unable to come on Fridays we can most likely fit them in on a Thursday.
Junior Lightning League runs Friday evenings 7pm to 7:30pm as last part of Friday Juniors
School holiday training camps are held during school holidays and are fully supervised and run by qualified, experienced coaches. Parents are most welcome to observe. Times and days are advised well in advance. See above or contact us for information.
