MFTTA runs active programs at its stadium and at schools (info below)
News flash 1: Exciting new program for 5-12yr olds called Spinneroos - fun and friendship. - runs each school Term. Limited places see below to register
Juniors: MFTTA sees Juniors as the lifeblood and future of the sport. As such the club devotes extensive resources to create opportunities for juniors to play table tennis. The starting point is usually Spinneroos (see below) or Friday juniors which begins at 430pm and at 6pm during school terms (when COVID-19 restrictions are not in place - see Home page). This program has fun activities, games, competitions and coaching. This is so popular that often the entire family ends up joining the club to play socially and/or in Pennant competition or handicap competition. There are development pathways for all Juniors who can progress through coaching and training and learn new skills and develop their potential. Many have gone on to win trophies (available at all standards), and to represent the club, Victoria and Australia. Most of all the focus is on fun and enjoyment.
Schools: MFTTA also works closely with schools to provide an introduction to table tennis for primary and secondary school aged children. We are part of the Table Tennis Australia highly successful Spinneroos program which runs each school term (see below). Schools are warmly invited to contact us if you would like to play at our stadium or have us visit and provide coaching programs.

MFTTA Club ambassador, Elite Coach and Olympian Heming Hu inspired Friday Juniors at their end of term sessions with games, coaching, and fun activities on Friday 26 March 2021, and Friday 26 June 2021. Heming signed shirts, balls and balls, and provided some giveaways for young players excited to meet him. Players had a chance to have a hit with an Olympian (Australia's number 1 player) in these memorable events. Many thanks to Heming for an outstanding job!
MFTTA is involved in a new innovative training program called Spinneroos which aims to build skills for juniors 5 to 12 yrs old using an exciting, fun methodology. It runs each school Term.
There is Regular Spinneroos (boys and girls; $90) and a girls only program called Girls Spinneroos ($90; about to start) - both run by skilled coaches.
It goes for 8 weeks of fun and friendship and children each get a player kit with a shirt with their name, bat, balls and bag. Regular Spinneroos (girls and boys) usually starts second week of each school term on a Friday at 430pm-530pm. Girls Spinneroos usuaully starts similarly in second week of each school term on a Thursday 430pm-530pm. For those unable to come on Fridays we can most likely fit them in on a Thursday.
Junior Lightning League runs Friday evenings 7pm to 730pm as last part of Friday Juniors
School holiday training camps are held during school holidays and are fully supervised and run by qualified, experienced coaches. Parents are most welcome to observe. Times and days are advised well in advance. See above or contact us for information.
Local schools: MFTTA runs regular coaching sessions and programs at local schools. Contact us for more information or if your school would like us to visit.
